Augsburg is a city defined by history but lived in the present. Its streets, architecture, and culture reflect centuries of heritage, yet the way people gather, celebrate, and connect continues to evolve. But something is missing, residents, businesses, and communities are need a spaces that is flexible, engaging, and built for shared experiences.
Within Augsburg stands Gaswerk, a former industrial site that once powered Augsburg in a very literal way. Its structures remain a strong part of the city’s identity recognizable, grounded, and deeply connected to its past. Over time, however, its purpose has shifted, opening up new possibilities for how the space can serve the city today.
Destination: Gaswerk was created from that shift.
Rather than replacing what Gaswerk represents, it builds on it—transforming a familiar industrial site into a functional, modern event destination. It reintroduces the space not as a relic of the past, but as an active part of Augsburg’s present. A place people can use, return to, and experience in new ways.
Today, Destination: Gaswerk serves as a versatile hub for:
By combining adaptable spaces with modern event infrastructure, it provides a setting that supports a wide range of activities—without losing the character that makes it distinctly Augsburg.
At its core, the idea is simple:
Make place people already know relevant to how they live now.
Because Augsburg isn’t just a city of history—it’s a city of people, moments, and ongoing experiences. And Destination: Gaswerk exists to give those moments a place to happen.
To create a destination where culture, music, and people connect turning moments into unforgettable experiences.
To become a defining destination that shapes the energy of Augsburg a place people don’t just visit, but experience and remember.
Experiences define places.
This principle guides how the space is used.
The value of a place is not found only in its structure, but in how it is experienced how events unfold within it, how people engage with it, and what remains after it is over.
When the environment supports the experience properly, the moment can take its full form.
There are many venues,
But not all of them are destinations
What defines Destination: Gaswerk is not only what is visible but what is dependable:
Most importantly: A place where you can be confident that your event will come together as intended.
